Our clients are an award-winning civil engineering consultancy providing specialist development planning and infrastructure services to the property industry. Now in their 12th year of operation, their team of transport planners, civil engineers and technicians has grown to over 40 strong, and they are working on some of the most prestigious development projects in the south west.
They provide our staff with excellent opportunities to get involved in all aspects of design work, and all engineers are encouraged and assisted to progress their professional qualifications through ICE approved Training Schemes, with internal and external training opportunities being provided, supporting people’s careers and encouraging them to learn new skills and achieve ICE qualification status.
There is a hybrid working policy to provide flexibility and opportunities for remote home working and they take pride in sharing success with everybody that has contributed towards it; everybody qualifies for a quarterly profit-related bonus scheme.
The varied role will allow you to gain experience in every technical discipline across the business, including detailed highway and drainage design, 3D site modelling, plot engineering, utilities strategy, flood risk assessment, foul and surface water drainage strategy and transport planning. As well as devising engineering solutions at the planning stage, you will also have the opportunity to produce infrastructure designs for technical approval and construction. You can expect to be working on a number of projects at any given time and you will report to, and be mentored by, one of the management team, all of whom are Chartered Civil Engineers.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain a wide range of experience at the start of a career in civil engineering consultancy and their journey to gaining professional qualifications with the ICE.
You will either be a graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering, or currently working through the final year of your degree course, having achieved or expecting 2:1 or above. You will have good written and spoken communication skills and any experience with AutoCAD would be a bonus. However, full training would be provided for all aspects of the role and what we are really looking for is someone who is enthusiastic with a willingness to learn and be able to work as part of a team.
