The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Our client is one of the largest multidisciplinary partnerships in the UK providing engineering and design consultancy services with innovative, cost-effective and sustainable solutions for challenging environments.
Due to an increasing forward workload, they are currently looking to appoint an experienced Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist position within the Edinburgh Team.
The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects spanning the renewables, transportation, industrial, retail, residential and commercial sectors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data collection, manipulation and interpretation of both geotechnical and geo-chemical data as part of site investigations for a wide range of schemes.
- Preparation of Geotechnical Desk Studies, Interpretative Reports and Specifications.
- Design, Procurement and Supervision of Site Investigations.
- Undertake geotechnical analysis and design e.g. slope stability, settlement assessments and foundation and retaining wall design.
- Management of multiple projects.
- Management and Technical oversight of Junior team members.
- Preparation of Fee proposals and input into Tenders.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology.
- Experience in the design, specification and management of ground investigation works.
- Proven experience in geotechnical design to UK Eurocodes as part of multi-disciplinary projects.
- Experience undertaking geotechnical design works for shallow and deep foundations, piling works, earthworks, slope stability and retaining walls.
- Preparation of geotechnical reports, including desk studies, Ground Investigation Reports, and Geotechnical Design Reports.
- Preparation of specification and drawings for construction works.
- Experience in the use of geotechnical design software, i.e. OASYS suite or equivalent.
- Preparation of fee estimates and input into tender submissions.
- Mentoring and training of Junior staff.
