An established multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Engineering Geologist to join its expanding Edinburgh team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ground investigation professional to work on a broad range of high-profile projects across the infrastructure, construction, energy, and development sectors.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering technically complex geotechnical and geo-environmental projects while supporting the growth of a busy and collaborative ground engineering division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and supervising ground investigation works
  • Logging soil and rock samples in accordance with current standards
  • Managing subcontractors and site operations
  • Preparing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports
  • Carrying out geo-environmental and contaminated land assessments
  • Reviewing ground investigation data and providing technical input
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Building strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Previous consultancy experience within ground investigation or geotechnical engineering
  • Strong technical reporting and data interpretation skills
  • Experience managing site investigations and fieldwork programmes
  • Good understanding of relevant UK standards and guidance
  • Full UK driving licence
