An established multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Engineering Geologist to join its expanding Edinburgh team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ground investigation professional to work on a broad range of high-profile projects across the infrastructure, construction, energy, and development sectors.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering technically complex geotechnical and geo-environmental projects while supporting the growth of a busy and collaborative ground engineering division.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and supervising ground investigation works
- Logging soil and rock samples in accordance with current standards
- Managing subcontractors and site operations
- Preparing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports
- Carrying out geo-environmental and contaminated land assessments
- Reviewing ground investigation data and providing technical input
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members
- Building strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Previous consultancy experience within ground investigation or geotechnical engineering
- Strong technical reporting and data interpretation skills
- Experience managing site investigations and fieldwork programmes
- Good understanding of relevant UK standards and guidance
- Full UK driving licence
