Are you ready to take the next step in your engineering career? We’re looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Chesham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on, technically minded engineer who enjoys tackling challenging projects, developing practical solutions, and taking ownership from initial concept through to completion. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a varied range of projects while providing technical leadership and supporting the development of other engineers.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading mechanical engineering projects from concept through to delivery.
- Developing detailed mechanical designs, drawings and technical specifications.
- Carrying out engineering calculations and design reviews.
- Working closely with clients, suppliers, manufacturers and internal teams.
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior and developing engineers.
- Reviewing designs to ensure they meet required standards, specifications and regulations.
- Identifying engineering challenges and developing practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Supporting project planning, estimating and technical documentation.
- Working with manufacturing, installation and commissioning teams.
- Contributing to the ongoing improvement of engineering processes and standards.
What we’re looking for
- Significant experience in mechanical engineering and design.
- A degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
- Experience using CAD and other relevant engineering software.
- The ability to read, understand and produce detailed engineering drawings.
- Experience working on projects from design through to completion.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- A proactive, practical approach and the ability to work independently.
- A strong commitment to quality, safety and engineering excellence.
