We’re looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Land Surveyor to join a busy construction team in the Peterhead area. This is an ideal opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career, whether you’re a recent graduate, have some construction experience or have up to 12 months’ surveying experience.
You’ll receive practical training and guidance from experienced surveyors while gaining hands-on experience across live construction projects. Your training will include:
- Assisting with setting out and surveying on construction sites
- Learning how to use GPS, Total Stations and laser levels
- Taking accurate measurements and recording site data
- Setting out foundations, drainage, structures and other works
- Working with engineering drawings, coordinates and site plans
- Supporting senior surveyors with daily site activities
- Carrying out checks and assisting with as-built surveys
- Developing your understanding of construction surveying and site procedures
What we’re looking for: This role is all about potential, so previous surveying experience isn’t essential. We’re interested in people who are keen to learn and build a long-term career. You’ll ideally have:
- An interest in land surveying, construction or civil engineering
- A methodical approach and strong attention to detail
- Good numeracy and problem-solving skills
- A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
- The ability to work outdoors and on active construction sites
- Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Up to 12 months’ relevant experience is welcomed but not required
- A full UK driving licence, or be close to obtaining one
