About The Role

The Project Manager's role within JP Dunn Construction is to facilitate the site team to carry out the contracted works safely, to the required quality and specification on time within budget and to the client’s satisfaction. Programme to be on time or betterment achieved with resources agreed in the budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Compilation of labour histogram and IRS to sit alongside programme
  • Issuing and tracking of IRS and RFI’s
  • RAMS register and submission of RAMs
  • Temporary works register and submission of briefs to temporary works designers (including formwork designs)
  • Chase all approvals for drainage connections and ensure you are ahead on technical approvals for flow controls, attenuation, pump chambers etc. (if applicable)
  • Complete material take-offs for main job

Health & Safety

In addition to complying with The Company Health and Safety Policy, the PM must also be aware of the clients’ procedures and minimum standards. The SHEQ Department will carry out regular site audits, the PM must make time to accompany them around the site and all issues raised must be addressed and the audit reports closed out. Safety records, typically the Friday Pack, to be issued to the client promptly.

Quality

The PM must ensure that he is aware of the requirements of the specifications and that the quality procedures described in the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) are adhered to.

Programming

The Tender Programme will be converted to Construction Programme CP01 at the beginning of the Project. This Programme should be reviewed by the PM and site team once details and site conditions are understood and reissued ensuring that all contract dates are met. Internally we should issue a target programme showing how we plan to improve on the contract dates.

Reporting

Weekly Progress Reports are to be issued to the clients using form procedures manual. These must be an accurate record and highlight all delays. PM to inform the Project Surveyor of all delays as soon as they become apparent.

Managing Engineering Staff

Dependent upon the size of a project there may be a senior engineer in addition to setting out engineers. The PM is responsible for supporting and ensuring that the engineers are carrying out all their duties without causing delay or disruption to the work.

Managing Foreman

Clear communications needed with the Foremen to make sure that they have sufficient knowledge knowing the details and a clear plan of works/4 week lookahead. The PM should attend the Foreman’s Morning Daily Briefing.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of ITP (Inspection and Test Plan), getting approval from the Client and then uploading the procedures
  • Managing the quality procedures on site, making sure that the correct procedures are being followed and then uploading the information and ensuring that the correct approval sequences are followed and quality of work approved
  • Making sure that areas are handed over to the client when suitable areas are complete and making sure that the handovers are documented

Candidate requirements:

At least 5 years of experience on projects with a value of £3 Mil - £15 Mil.
