What is the Role?
As an enthusiastic and safety-conscious Yard Operative, you will be the first point of contact for customers arriving in the yard, ensuring they receive a warm welcome, efficient service, and the products they need. You will help keep the yard safe, organised, and well-stocked while supporting the wider branch team in delivering excellent customer service.
What Will I Be Doing?
- Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner and assist with product enquiries.
- Safely load/unload vehicles and assemble customer orders for collection or delivery.
- Operate forklifts and handling equipment in line with safety procedures.
- Manage stock efficiently through ordering, replenishment, and participation in stock counts.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard environment.
- Work collaboratively with the branch team to achieve sales, margin, and service targets.
- Complete health & safety checks and mandatory training to company standards.
- Positively represent the company and contribute to our values of Decency, Passion, and Pride.
What Do We Need From You?
- Experience in a similar role or trade environment is an advantage.
- Forklift licence (or willingness to train).
- Strong awareness and adherence to health & safety practices.
