JP Corry is the leading Builders Merchants in Northern Ireland, renowned for providing excellent quality and service in the supply of building materials and timber-based products. We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to join the team at our site in Springfield Road, Belfast. We provide a fulfilling and enjoyable work environment with ample opportunities for career growth, along with a competitive salary, staff discount, life assurance, and 33 days of holiday (inclusive of bank holidays).
Hours: Between 07:00 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:00 – 16:00 Friday and every other Saturday morning 08:00-12:00.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serving customers face to face, providing the highest possible service and care.
- Preparing orders for collection & delivery and ensuring sales documentation is completed.
- Maintaining stock levels.
- Loading and unloading vehicles both manually and with a forklift truck (training provided).
- Ensuring all goods inwards are checked and put away in the correct location.
- Being responsible for personal and workplace health and safety and observing regulations in relation to the Health and Safety at Work Act (PPE provided).
- Any other duties as may be deemed necessary to ensure business objectives are met.

Required Skills And Experience:
- Proven experience working in a similar role and environment.
- Experience in a customer facing role, providing customer advice.
- Understanding of timber and general building products.
- Methodical, with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Good communication skills and a team player.
- Experience driving 3.5t vans and FLTs would be extremely beneficial to the role.
