Core Responsibilities

  • Site Management: Overseeing all operational activities in strict accordance with Environment Agency licenses and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Leadership & Development: Leading, directing, and appointing staff, while fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
  • Compliance & Safety: Compiling Risk Assessments and procedures, monitoring statutory calibrations, and reporting all incidents in line with company policy.
  • Resource Optimization: Managing site budgets, monitoring consumables/spares, and ensuring all necessary equipment is available and maintained.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Building and maintaining strong relationships with the Environment Agency, regulatory bodies, third parties, and customers.
  • Reporting: Producing comprehensive monthly reports and performance indicators (KPIs) for senior management.
  • Process Improvement: Planning and implementing site improvements to maximize utilization and maintain high housekeeping standards.

The successful candidate will be a decisive leader with a "can-do" attitude and a sharp eye for detail. To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Experience & Qualifications: A strong understanding of waste regulations is essential. A formal qualification in Waste Treatment/Transfer Station COTC is highly desirable.
  • Technical Aptitude: The capability to oversee or undertake running repairs to plant and equipment.
  • Operational Demeanour: The ability to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while remaining flexible.
  • Accountability: A strong desire for responsibility and a commitment to challenging yourself and your team to improve constantly.
