The Opportunity
Are you an ambitious leader with a passion for environmental projects and operational excellence? My client is seeking a high-caliber Waste Recycling Operations Manager to lead their purpose-driven team at a vital waste management site in Leyton.
This is a high-impact role where you will be at the heart of the operation, driving innovative solutions and managing a dedicated workforce to ensure the facility remains a leader in sustainable waste management.
Core Responsibilities
In this pivotal role, you will have full accountability for the safe and efficient long-term operation of the site. Your duties will include:

Site Management: Overseeing all operational activities in strict accordance with Environment Agency licenses and Health & Safety requirements.

Leadership & Development: Leading, directing, and appointing staff, while fostering a culture of continuous professional development.

Compliance & Safety: Compiling Risk Assessments and procedures, monitoring statutory calibrations, and reporting all incidents in line with company policy.

Resource Optimization: Managing site budgets, monitoring consumables/spares, and ensuring all necessary equipment is available and maintained.

Stakeholder Liaison: Building and maintaining strong relationships with the Environment Agency, regulatory bodies, third parties, and customers.

Reporting: Producing comprehensive monthly reports and performance indicators (KPIs) for senior management.

Process Improvement: Planning and implementing site improvements to maximize utilization and maintain high housekeeping standards.
Who You Are
The successful candidate will be a decisive leader with a βcan-doβ attitude and a sharp eye for detail. To excel in this role, you will need:

Experience & Qualifications: A strong understanding of waste regulations is essential. A formal qualification in Waste Treatment/Transfer Station COTC is highly desirable.

Technical Aptitude: The capability to oversee or undertake running repairs to plant and equipment.

Operational Demeanour: The ability to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while remaining flexible.
