My client is seeking a high-caliber Waste Recycling Operations Manager to lead their purpose-driven team at a vital waste management site in Leyton. This is a high-impact role where you will be at the heart of the operation, driving innovative solutions and managing a dedicated workforce to ensure the facility remains a leader in sustainable waste management.
Core Responsibilities
- Site Management: Overseeing all operational activities in strict accordance with Environment Agency licenses and Health & Safety requirements.
- Leadership & Development: Leading, directing, and appointing staff, while fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
- Compliance & Safety: Compiling Risk Assessments and procedures, monitoring statutory calibrations, and reporting all incidents in line with company policy.
- Resource Optimization: Managing site budgets, monitoring consumables/spares, and ensuring all necessary equipment is available and maintained.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Building and maintaining strong relationships with the Environment Agency, regulatory bodies, third parties, and customers.
- Reporting: Producing comprehensive monthly reports and performance indicators (KPIs) for senior management.
- Process Improvement: Planning and implementing site improvements to maximize utilization and maintain high housekeeping standards.
Who You Are
The successful candidate will be a decisive leader with a "can-do" attitude and a sharp eye for detail. To excel in this role, you will need:
- Experience & Qualifications: A strong understanding of waste regulations is essential. A formal qualification in Waste Treatment/Transfer Station COTC is highly desirable.
- Technical Aptitude: The capability to oversee or undertake running repairs to plant and equipment.
- Operational Demeanour: The ability to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while remaining flexible.
- Accountability: A strong desire for responsibility and a commitment to challenging yourself and your team to improve constantly.
- Communication: Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to manage time effectively and meet high-quality deliverables.
