About the Opportunity
Our client is a fast-growing biopharmaceutical manufacturer specialising in advanced gene and cell therapies, based in London. As part of their Quality Control team, they're looking for a QC Analytical Scientist to support the testing of products used in advanced therapy manufacturing.
The Role
You'll play a key role in testing gene therapy products and associated materials to EU and FDA GMP standards, working closely with the wider Quality Control and Production teams to keep testing on track with the production schedule. Day to day, you'll:
- Test gene therapy products and associated materials against product specifications, keeping pace with production timelines
- Support environmental monitoring and other testing requirements across the facility
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring everything is calibrated and fit for use
- Record and investigate out-of-specification results and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions where needed
- Help develop and update SOPs and laboratory documentation
- Keep the wider QC team informed, maintaining accurate, up-to-date information folders
- Support the Quality Management System, document control and data integrity across all testing activity
- Help introduce new analytical methods for testing gene therapy products
- Support internal and external audits, and health authority or customer site visits, as needed
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Human Health, Life Sciences or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience in a regulated environment such as pharmaceuticals or biologics
- Experience working in a GMP environment, ideally within quality control
- Good working knowledge of EU/FDA regulations and GMP/GLP/GCP principles; familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma approaches is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable interpreting complex data
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach, comfortable working closely with Production colleagues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
