Core Responsibilities
In this senior position, you will be responsible for the safe maintenance, repair, and optimization of plant equipment and systems. Your focus will be on achieving maximum productivity with minimal downtime.

Operational Oversight: Ensure the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) operates at peak efficiency while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Maintenance Leadership: Lead preventative and predictive maintenance initiatives to safeguard plant longevity.

Performance Optimization: Constantly monitor and improve plant performance, identifying areas for technical enhancement.

Project Management: Play a vital role in implementing engineering projects that improve operations across multiple sites.

Team Leadership: Motivate and guide the engineering team, ensuring a culture of technical excellence and safety compliance.
Who You Are
My client is looking for a leader who balances high-level strategic planning with a hands-on technical background. To be successful, you will need:

Experience: Proven experience in an engineering leadership role specifically within MRFs or similar heavy industrial environments.

Qualifications: Formal qualifications in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, along with a minimum of an IOSH Health & Safety certification.

Technical Skills: Essential welding skills for equipment repair. Proficiency in project management with a track record of seeing technical projects through to completion.

Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and inspire a diverse technical team.

Additional Assets: Certifications in MEWPS, Forklift licenses, and First Aid at Work are considered highly advantageous.
