Power Innovation. Design the Future. Are you ready to shape the next generation of high-performance industrial technology? Join a world-leading manufacturing innovator at the forefront of precision engineering. We are seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to play a pivotal role in developing advanced systems that bridge the gap between complex electronics and real-world industrial impact.
The Role
You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of electrical components—from initial concept and CAD schematics to hands-on testing and implementation. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will ensure that every design is robust, safe, and optimized for high-speed industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
- System Design: Create detailed electrical schematics and wiring diagrams (CAD) for power distribution, control panels, motor drives, and communication interfaces.
- Prototyping: Build 'first-off' systems and develop practical guides for Production and Service teams to ensure seamless scalability.
- Integration & Testing: Partner with Mechanical and Software engineers to integrate designs into complex machinery. Conduct rigorous troubleshooting and EMI/signal integrity analysis.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs meet global safety and quality benchmarks (e.g., UL, CE, and ISO standards).
- Innovation: Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for energy efficiency, cost-saving, and the integration of emerging technologies.
Candidate Profile
What you need to bring:
- Education: A Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in electrical design engineering.
- Technical Mastery: Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD) and a deep understanding of power systems, motor controls, and PLC integration.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with safety standards for industrial machinery (UL, CE, IEC).
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to thrive under tight project deadlines.
Desirable:
- Experience within industrial machinery, high-speed printing technology, or complex automated systems.
Why Join Us?
We believe in rewarding our experts with a culture that prioritises work-life balance and professional growth. Beyond a competitive salary, you will benefit from:
- Work-Life Balance: A standard 35-hour working week and a company shutdown over the Christmas period.
- Generous Leave: 25 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays), your Birthday off, and a 'milestone' week of extra leave every 5 years.
- Health & Wealth: 9% combined pension, Private Healthcare options, and a Cash Plan.
- Growth: Support for professional memberships, CPD days, and ongoing training.
- Perks: Cycle-to-work and Car schemes, enhanced Maternity/Paternity pay, and an active social calendar including monthly 'Above and Beyond' awards.
- Environment: Free onsite parking, complimentary refreshments, and a modern, rewarding workspace.
