The Opportunity: End-to-End Project Ownership
My client is a highly respected global provider of professional contract management and engineering services. Specialising in high-standard "turnkey" solutions, they deliver everything from Front End Engineering Design (FEED) to full EPC (Engineer, Procure, Construct) schemes across the UK and international industrial sectors. They are seeking an Electrical Engineer to take full lifecycle responsibility for the electrical and control aspects of multidisciplinary projects. This is a role for an engineer who enjoys seeing their designs transition from a concept on a screen to a fully operational, commissioned industrial plant.
The Role
This position is central to the engineering team, providing technical oversight through every stage of a project—from the initial bid to final handover. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between technical design and practical site application, ensuring that complex ELV, LV, and MV systems are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Design: Execute electrical system designs (ELV, LV, and MV) using AutoCAD and Amtech, and author comprehensive electrical specifications.
- Project Integration: Liaise with Mechanical teams and evaluate third-party equipment to ensure seamless integration into the overall system design.
- Commercial Support: Provide technical expertise to the Business Development team for tendering and estimations, and support Project Planning and Commercial teams.
- Quality & Testing: Develop and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure all work meets Contract Quality Plans and regulatory requirements.
- Safety Leadership: Conduct risk assessments for electrical hazards, develop Health & Safety plans, and ensure strict adherence to industry safety standards.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Review and approve vendor documentation, manage supplier quality, and act as a key technical point of contact for clients.
- Project Close-out: Manage post-contract documentation, produce technical reports, and oversee successful handovers.
Candidate Profile
What you need to bring:
- Experience: At least 5 years of post-qualification experience specifically in the design and construction of industrial plants.
- Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ Electrical qualification and 18th Edition.
- Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Amtech.
- Compliance: A strong understanding of current legislation relating to electrical engineering and health and safety.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Mobility: A valid UK Driving Licence.
The "Nice-to-Haves":
- HND in Electrical Engineering.
- DSEAR qualification.
- Knowledge of Power Systems up to 11kV.
- Experience with Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS).
Why Join My Client?
- Total Project Visibility: Unlike many design roles, you will own your work across its entire project duration, from the initial bid to the final site commissioning.
