About the Opportunity
Our client is a fast-growing, locally-owned engineering manufacturer, designing and building factory-fabricated modular solutions for commercial heating and cooling applications used by major organisations across Europe. Despite rapid growth in recent years, they've held onto a close-knit, family-style culture built around small, connected teams. They're now looking for a Quality Manager to lead their quality function through the next stage of growth.
The Role
This is a senior leadership role balancing strategic thinking with hands-on quality leadership. You'll build capability, influence stakeholders across the business, and embed a culture where quality excellence, continuous improvement and people development sit at the heart of everything the business does.
- Lead and develop the quality function, building a culture of ownership, accountability and decision-making at every level
- Use data and performance insights to identify trends, direct resources and apply lean techniques that strengthen controls and drive continuous improvement
- Coach, mentor and develop quality professionals, building capability across the wider team
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Planning, Technical, Supply Chain and Senior Leadership to ensure products consistently meet customer, regulatory and internal standards
- Manage relationships with customers, suppliers and third-party inspectors, supporting both internal and external audits
- Maintain compliance with relevant quality management systems and standards
- Partner with senior leadership to support business growth while safeguarding quality standards
What We're Looking For
- Experience in a Quality Management or senior quality leadership role within manufacturing, fabrication or industrial environments, ideally involving carbon steel and/or stainless steel
- Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001; familiarity with ISO 15614, ASME B31.3 and/or ISO 3834 is an advantage
- A degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management or a related field, or equivalent industry experience; CSWIP 3.1 or PCN qualification (or higher) desirable
- Proven experience leading teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Experience managing audits, corrective actions and quality performance metrics; an internal auditor qualification and experience managing subcontractors is desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a clear focus on results
