Job Description

This exclusive girls school in West London is seeking an organised approachable Cover & HR Assistant, with a solid administrative background to assist in staff absence and HR admin management.

The ideal candidate should have common sense, brilliant organisational skills, and the ability to schedule and solve problems with ease.  Empathy, diplomacy and communication skills – with an ability to remain calm under pressure whilst managing competing priorities is essential.

The successful candidate must have the ability to work accurately and to tight deadlines and follow strict procedural requirements, whilst remaining committed to safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Prior schools, HR and/or financial processes experience would be desirable. Exceptional professionalism confidentiality and discretion is expected at all times.

Hours: Mon-Thurs 7.30am-4.30pm & Fri 4pm.  8am–4.30pm during holidays

Holiday:  28 days + 2 weeks at Christmas (all annual leave taken in school holidays)

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring that lesson cover is in place for all absences, planned & unplanned
  • \\n\\t

  • Maintaining rota and templates for cover
  • \\n\\t

  • Keep the key stakeholders updated on absences and cover requirements
  • \\n\\t

  • Day to day maintenance of HR database
  • \\n\\t

  • Liaison with leavers & reference requests
  • \\n\\t

  • Photocopying, scanning, shredding, filing & archiving
  • \\n\\t

  • Assisting with staff recruitment & induction
  • \\n\\t

  • Produce relevant HR correspondence
  • \\n
