JOVELA is a fast-growing eCommerce business, with expertise in the distribution of high-quality consumer products online. JOVELA encompasses several brands with a wide range of product categories and selling platforms. We’re a motivated, hard-working team with a drive for success, and we’re looking for a Purchasing Manager to join our Product and Sourcing Team. If you’re ambitious, commercially minded, and excited about driving results through strategic purchasing, we’d love to have you grow with us.
As a Purchasing Manager, you’d play a key role in shaping our product range and ensuring smooth, cost-effective supply chain operations. You’ll be supporting our team in sourcing, forecasting, supplier management, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to support our business' growth.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct accurate forecasting and purchasing activities; placing purchase orders, maintaining our inventory management system and tracking supplier production.
- Source new products and identify potential suppliers to diversify and expand our offerings.
- Monitor and maintain supplier quality control to uphold our high product standards.
- Generate and analyse detailed reports to guide and recommend purchasing strategies, delegating tasks and priorities to remote team members.
- Oversee product and brand control, including packaging requirements, product descriptions, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement sourcing and supplier management strategies to improve efficiency, profitability and performance.
- Meet company buying targets through strategic procurement and leading supplier negotiations.
- Proactively manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability for year-round and seasonal products.
- Maintain clear, accurate records of orders, production progress, and supplier performance.
- Ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships - proven negotiation skills are a plus.
- Highly organised, with excellent planning and multitasking abilities.
- Commercially aware and comfortable making data-driven decisions that benefit the business.
- Analytical and process-oriented thinker with strong numerical skills.
- A problem-solving mindset focused on continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams effectively in a timely manner.
- Previous experience in procurement or purchasing, understanding the importance of each step in the buying process is a must!
- Prior experience sourcing consumer goods directly from Asia.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or ordering software.
