Job Description
JOVELA is a fast-growing eCommerce business, with expertise in the distribution of high-quality consumer products online. JOVELA encompasses several brands with a wide range of product categories and selling platforms.
We’re a motivated, hard working team with a drive for success, and we’re looking for a Buyer to join our Product and Sourcing Team. If you’re ambitious, commercially minded, and excited about driving results through strategic purchasing, we’d love to have you grow with us.
As a Buyer, you’d play a key role in shaping our product range and ensuring smooth, cost-effective supply chain operations. You’ be supporting our team in sourcing, forecasting, supplier management, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to support our business' growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct accurate forecasting and purchasing activities, including placing purchase orders and maintaining our inventory management system
- Source new products and identify potential suppliers to diversify and expand our offerings
- Analyse product margins to ensure profitability and make data-informed decisions on selection and pricing
- Monitor and maintain supplier quality control to uphold our high product standards
- Generate detailed reports and conduct data analysis to guide purchasing strategies
- Track supplier production timelines to ensure on-time delivery
- Oversee product and brand control, including packaging requirements, product descriptions, and regulatory compliance
- Develop and implement sourcing and supplier management strategies to improve efficiency and performance
- Meet company buying targets through strategic procurement and supplier negotiations
- Maintain clear, accurate records of orders, production progress, and supplier performance
Who We’re Looking For
- Ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships – proven negotiation skills are a plus
- Highly organised, with excellent planning and multitasking abilities
- Commercially aware and comfortable making data-driven decisions that benefit the business
- Analytical and process-oriented thinker with strong numerical skills
- A problem-solving mindset focused on continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams effectively
- Previous experience in procurement or purchasing roles is preferred, knowledge of the buying process is a must!
Desirable Experience
- Prior experience sourcing consumer goods directly from Asia
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or ordering software
