Data Migration Specialist

Description:

As a JourneyBlazers Data Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and executing one-time and regularly scheduled data conversion routines to migrate data between both legacy on-premises databases and cloud databases. You will ensure that data quality, integrity, and completeness is maintained or improved during the migration, and that adequate data normalization is performed. You will work closely with both JourneyBlazers architects and business analysts to deliver innovative functionality that pushes the boundaries of Salesforce.

This role is primarily responsible for designing, testing, and executing data conversion routines to migrate data from legacy databases into the TrialWorks SQL server database or the Needles SQL database. Part of this function involves ensuring that data quality, integrity, and completeness is maintained or improved and that duplicate entities are identified and removed.

Translating functional business requirements into well-developed custom solutions that leverage the Salesforce platform and provide intuitive user experiences. You will work closely with both JourneyBlazers architects and business analysts to deliver innovative functionality that pushes the boundaries of what is expected from user interfaces within the public sector. Our developers are not afraid of utilizing the Salesforce platform to accelerate solution development and are open to working with Salesforce resources to fill platform knowledge gaps. As a developer, you will be hands-on with the development of new functionality and will be expected to not only deliver functionality to meet requirements but also ensure solutions follow JourneyBlazers’s philosophy of human-centered design and intuitive user experiences. Responsibilities:

• Extract, Transform & Load into relational model structures of transactional databases
• Implement transformations, mappings, sessions, workflows, and business rules as per requirements
• Automate exception reporting by parsing logs
• Create necessary documentation and update the project documentation
• Conduct root cause analysis for ETL job failures and data issues raised by business.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years experience with data migrations, data conversions, and ETL processes
• Business process analysis
• Previous support for large-scale conversion efforts

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with data migration tools (Mulesoft, Pentaho, Informatica, SAP PI)
• Experience with APIs
• Experience with Salesforce
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Information Technology or other relevant domain, or equivalent combination of education and experience
