The Senior Project Manager will lead the end-to-end delivery of world-class immersive environments and themed attractions. This role sits at the intersection of creative vision and technical fabrication. You will be responsible for translating complex blue-sky designs into tangible, high-quality guest experiences, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the exacting standards of the themed entertainment industry. This role is based in our Birmingham studio with the Scruffy Dog Creative Group team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for theming and amusement park projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Lead a multidisciplinary project team, including designers, architects, engineers, and contractors, to achieve project goals.
- Provide guidance, support, and direction to team members throughout all project phases.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages creativity and excellence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication and providing project updates.
- Cultivate strong client relationships through professionalism, integrity, and responsiveness.
- Address client concerns and proactively identify opportunities to exceed expectations.
- Coordinate resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient project execution.
- Manage procurement activities, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and purchasing, to support project requirements.
- Monitor resource utilization and implement adjustments as needed to optimize project performance.
- Establish and enforce quality standards and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular inspections and reviews to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project quality and efficiency.
- Monitor project expenses and track budgetary performance against established targets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to minimize project expenditures.
Candidate Qualifications & Skills Required
- Approximately 5+ years of project management experience specifically within Themed Entertainment, Immersive Events, Museum Exhibition, or Scenic Fabrication.
- A degree or alternative education in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field; advanced education preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret creative concept art and technical shop drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Teamwork, or similar PM software; basic understanding of AutoCAD/SolidWorks is a plus.
- An interest in and ability to thrive in a fast-paced "production-studio" environment where requirements can evolve rapidly.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or APM certification.
Ideal start date: 1st April 2026 for project needs and sufficient handover, with flexibility for the right candidate.
