Job Description

A well-established accountancy practice near Wokingham is seeking an experienced Practice Accountant to join their friendly team. This varied role supports both the accounts and tax departments, working with a portfolio of SME clients.

The salary for this role is up to £65,000 depending on experience. You will be fully officed based in the firms offices close to Wokingham.

Main responsibilities for the Practice Accountant role are:

  • Accounts preparation for SME clients (FRS 102 Section 1a & FRS 105).
  • Preparation of Corporation Tax computations & CT600’s.
  • Advising clients on salary and dividends.
  • Preparation and review of Personal Tax Returns.
  • Assisting with MTD for Income Tax Returns.
  • Be the first point of contact for allocated clients, responding to various client enquiries in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Review the work of other members of staff.
  • Develop an ongoing, effective relationship with clients and ensure retention of clients.
  • Working within a team to ensure deadlines are met and be able to work independently.

Skills required the Practice Accountant role are:

  • Qualified, part-qualified or QBE accountant
  • number of years proven experience working in practice
  • Strong software knowledge (IRIS, Sage, Xero, FreeAgent etc.)
  • Excellent communication, organisation & attention to detail
