Our established client is seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the procurement process by assisting with purchasing activities, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring the smooth operation of their supply chain. This position requires strong negotiation skills and familiarity with various procurement systems. This role is based in High Wycombe offering a salary of between GBP30,000 and GBP35,000 dependent on experience.
Main responsibilities for the Purchasing Assistant role are:
- Supporting all purchasing operations, including day‑to‑day ordering, stock control, and ERP data accuracy.
- Liase with suppliers to ensure timely, in‑full deliveries.
- Plan and schedule materials to meet production and sales requirements, managing risks to minimise disruption.
- Monitor inventory levels, minimise obsolete stock, and support stock checks and audits.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including planning, operations, and finance, to ensure smooth procurement processes.
- Day to day order management and management of deliveries.
- Expediting orders and checking on delivery dates a week in advance.
Skills required for the Purchasing Assistant role are:
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Must have strong IT skills and be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word.
