Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join their on-site engineering team in Ascot. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery, maintenance and operational performance of mechanical building services and infrastructure within a prestigious environment. Working under the direction of the M&E Team Leader, the successful candidate will provide mechanical engineering expertise to ensure long-term asset reliability, system efficiency and the seamless day-to-day operation of the venue’s mechanical infrastructure. The role will also involve technical support during events and other operational activities, ensuring facilities perform safely and efficiently during peak demand. The salary on offer is up to £45,000.
Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Building Services Engineer role are:
- Monitor and complete reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) work orders via the CAFM system, ensuring accurate documentation and timely completion
- Promote and uphold Health & Safety standards across all mechanical activities
- Support contractor management, including oversight of catering equipment maintenance contracts
- Assist with on-site C.A.T scanning activities (training provided if required)
- Monitor, analyse and document system performance via the BMS platform
- Carry out fault-finding, servicing and repairs on AHUs and FCUs, including belts, filters and associated components
- Conduct routine mechanical alarm testing, ensuring compliance documentation is maintained
- Support small-scale plumbing and mechanical installations, including temporary water and drainage provisions for race days and live events
- Provide mechanical infrastructure support during events to ensure operational continuity
- Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 5 weeks)
Skills required for the Mechanical Building Services Engineer role are:
- Recognised mechanical or plumbing qualification (e.g. City & Guilds)
- Proven experience as a Building Services Engineer within a large or complex environment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings
- Experience working with BMS systems (Schneider EcoStruxure advantageous)
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and COSHH regulations
- Experience overseeing specialist contractors
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
