About The Role
As a Shop Fitter / Cabinet Maker, you will play a key role in maintaining and crafting high-quality cabinetry and furnishings for our various tourist train carriages. Your expertise will help with our passionate desire to create a world class experience for guests who come from all around the world to experience our iconic train journeys (Ghan, Indian Pacific, Great Southern and Overland).
About You
You are a motivated individual with experience as a Shop Fitter / Cabinet Maker, who possesses a strong understanding of woodworking techniques and materials, including fixtures, locks, and glass installation. You have the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans accurately, ensuring high-quality results with excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship. As a team player, you communicate effectively, making you an asset to any dynamic environment. You are passionate about your craft and are eager to contribute your skills to this rewarding role.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Interpret and understand drawings and specifications to repair/improve/create bespoke cabinetry and shop fittings.
- Assemble, and install fixtures, locks, glass, upholstery, wall, floor and ceiling coverings, etc. to the highest standards.
- Collaborate with other cross-functional tradespeople to maintain hotel type carriage on the Ghan, Indian Pacific, Great Southern and Overland trains.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring a clean and organised workspace.
