Our Rail Division, previously known as Great Southern Rail (“GSR”) operates Australia’s iconic rail journeys, The Ghan, Indian Pacific, The Overland and Great Southern. There are very few global journeys considered national treasures, but our trains are, without question, iconic Australian experiences. From the moment our guests (and potentially you!) step aboard these legendary trains, you can feel it – a spirit of adventure and a sense of something very special about to unfold.
About the Role
Full time positions in the role of Storeperson are currently available. In this role you will be responsible for receiving, handling and dispatching goods in the warehouse, ensuring all departing Journeys are fully stocked and prepared for their departure. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Receive, verify and issue all products located in the warehouse
- Maintain stock levels to deliver service efficiencies
- Conduct stock takes as instructed
- Pick stock for delivery as scheduled
- Load/unload stock onto trains as required
- Deliver stock as required to retail outlets at Adelaide Parklands Terminal
- Complete supporting documentation and report any discrepancies
- Meet all systems, practices and procedures required for food safety standards in compliance with HACCP requirements
- Ensure warehouse and surrounding areas are maintained to high level of cleanliness and organisation.
About You
This position is physically demanding with short delivery time frames and will require standing for long periods of time. In addition, the arrival and departure times of our journeys vary, and you will require flexibility with working hours, including weekends and public holidays. Experience working within a similar warehouse environment and a current forklift and drivers license is required for this role.
