About The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Project Engineer within the Rail team! As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering safe, compliant and cost-effective project outcomes that align with our operational performance and business objectives. You will enhance fleet reliability and asset performance through effective project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives. Building strong stakeholder partnerships will be key to achieving successful project outcomes, while you maintain rigorous project governance, risk management, and reporting practices. This position is a 2 year fixed term contract.

You are a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional with a passion for engineering and project management. You thrive in collaborative environments and possess strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to build effective relationships across various stakeholders. Your ability to innovate and drive continuous improvement will support our commitment to excellence and enhance our operational capabilities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Deliver safe, compliant and cost-effective project outcomes for rolling stock and equipment.
- Develop and maintain project scopes, plans and risk mitigation strategies while monitoring performance and providing timely stakeholder updates.
- Build collaborative relationships with operational leaders, maintenance teams, engineers and suppliers.
- Manage contractors and ensure clear communication of expectations and deliverables.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and maintain accurate project documentation to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Pre requisites for the role include but are not limited to, holding a relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience, a proven track record in project management, preferably in the rail or transportation sector and strong stakeholder engagement, planning, and problem-solving skills.
