We are seeking a detail orientated and motivated Rolling Stock Maintenance Planner to join our team.
As a Rolling Stock Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating all maintenance planning activities for our rolling stock fleet. Your role will ensure the safety, reliability, and availability of our trains, aligning with JB’s commitment to delivering exceptional experiences to our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain the rolling stock maintenance schedule to ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with relevant stakeholders, including engineering, operations, safety teams and external contractors.
- Monitor and analyse fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimisation.
- Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities and compliance with maintenance protocols.
- Assist in developing maintenance budgets and optimising resource allocation.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet reliability and efficiency.
- Participate in audits and inspections as required.
- Perform Payroll activities for the direct staff in Maintenance.
- Create Rosters for the team to ensure preventive and corrective maintenance needs are optimised.
- Manage Asset and gauge calibrations.
- Manage subcontractors e.g. bogie and wheelset overhauls, trucking companies, etc.
- Relevant qualifications in a mechanical or electrical trade, Maintenance Management or a related field.
- Proven experience in maintenance planning, preferably within the rail industry.
- Strong understanding of rolling stock maintenance processes and regulations.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, MS Word.
- Use of Maintenance management systems e.g. Hexagon or similar.
