Your Role:

The Art Director is responsible for assisting the Senior Art Director in presenting the brand’s identity and the seasonal visual narrative. You’ll take pride in creatively satisfying the commercial requirements of selling our gorgeous Joules products through photography and video.

What To Expect From a Day To Day Perspective

The Art Director will support the Senior Art Director on the visual appeal, feel and mood of all photography shoots, pulling together all creative elements of the shoot including set dressing, prop selection and styling whilst ensuring that the overall aesthetic and commercial requirements of the production are achieved. One thing we can guarantee is that no two days will be the same!

As part of the Creative Team, the Art Director will be required to consider the brand’s identity in its entirety, helping to deliver seasonal concepts and ideas to inform all channels whilst maintaining a consistent brand identity. Your daily creative responsibilities will see you collaborating with but not limited to – our Senior Art Director, Head of Concept, Chief Brand Officer and the Marketing team.

Supporting the Senior Art Director with on location and in house photoshoots will be your bread and butter. You’ll be responsible for the look, feel and mood for all location shoots as well as styled flats within the studio, to include the organisation of ‘paired back shoots’ for reactive projects, when necessary. Sourcing of props, scouting and researching locations for shoots and creating dressed sets to ensure overall aesthetic and commercial requirements of the production should be second nature to you. You can expect to edit and manage the handover of imagery being responsible for appropriate asset selection from each shoot and presenting for sign off.

You will be entrusted to research new talent including but not limited to photographers, stylists, hair & amp; make-up artists and models further assisting in briefing these partners within each shoot ensuring branding is at the forefront of all communications.

From a technical and operational perspective, it would also be advantageous if you have:

  • A design related qualification/relevant degree.
  • Have a CV and portfolio that displays a high level of creativity and a genuine passion for Fashion/Lifestyle photography.
  • Be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Creative Suite or be willing to learn.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence as this will be required to drive to locations on occasion.
  • Possess a background of working within an agency and / or in-house creative environment.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the photographic industry and its constraints.
  • Be a highly organised creative with the ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload at pace.

Where Will You be Working?

This is a full time, onsite role based at ‘The Barn’ – Joules’ purpose built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire.

The willingness to travel within the UK and internationally is essential in order to support and lead location shoots, locations reconnaissance and model casting.

We value your dedication and understand the importance of balance. This role is office based and typically requires 5 days a week working onsite or on location, as we believe this is where we make the best decisions together. We do offer discretionary flexibility to support your needs and help you navigate life\’s demands as and when your work allows.
