Step into the role of Senior Merchandiser. This is an integral role based at our Joules Head Office where you will be right at the heart of the action. You will join our friendly, forward-thinking Merchandising department to help us land a strategy that feels as fresh and effortless as our collections. We are looking for someone who appreciates the finer details of our heritage while keeping a keen eye on the future, ensuring our customers are perfectly kitted out for their well‑dressed time off.
Working Pattern: This is a full time role based at 'The Barn' - Joules' purpose built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. The typical hours for this role are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and this is an onsite role.
Our Location: Market Harborough in Leicestershire, is where Joules began in 1989. This market town is home to the brand's Head Office and is full of independent shops, bars and restaurants. It also benefits from good transport links to London, making it easily accessible for visitors and commuters alike.
Responsibilities:
- Strategise and Predict: deliver a seasonal range framework that balances sales and profit, using internal insights and external trends to spot what is around the corner.
- Trading: live and breathe the weekly trade, reacting with speed and precision to shifting consumer demands. Turn real‑time data into immediate commercial wins.
- Drive the Plan: take full accountability for your department plans, ensuring everything is delivered to hit targets while adjusting the sails as the critical path progresses.
- Monitor and Action: reforecast and monitor performance against the original plan, proactively chase down opportunities and keep risks at bay.
- Team: guide and support team members in achieving their goals and foster a positive work environment. Oversight of team progress and motivation.
- Collaborate and Connect: work hand in hand with suppliers to share seasonal visions and keep them updated on business levels.
- Lead the Conversation: present well‑reasoned plans to key decision makers, using clear rationale to secure sign‑off.
- Manage the Flow: together with Supply Chain and Planning teams, ensure stock arrives with a thoughtful eye on cash flow and capacity, making sure the right products are in the right places to maximise full‑price sell‑through.
- Optimise the Season: oversee trading for your department, managing OTB and addressing stock risks with the most profitable, clever solutions.
Qualifications:
- Technical Savvy: wizard with Excel or Google Sheets, possessing a high standard of commercial acumen. Can interpret spreadsheets to reveal the story behind the numbers.
- Organisation: attention to detail, prioritise workload, lead team with calm, confident energy.
- Communication: natural negotiator and presenter, able to influence others while remaining approachable and relatable; loves getting things done, embraces change, bold optimism.
In accordance with Home Office guidance successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. Joules does not hold a Sponsor Licence and would not, therefore, be able to sponsor a successful candidate under the Skilled Worker route. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the right to work without sponsorship.
