You’re a Financial Controller. Joule UK Ltd is seeking a skilled and driven Financial Controller to join our finance team based at our UK office in Pontefract. This role is ideal for a finance professional who is passionate about developing themselves and others, and who thrives in an environment where continuous improvement, training, and professional growth are genuinely valued.
As a key leader within the business, you will guide, mentor, and support a dedicated finance team—shaping their success while contributing to your own progression. You’ve done the technical groundwork. You know how to prep a set of accounts, handle tax, and keep the numbers clean. You’ve either trained in practice or built your career in industry - doesn’t matter. What matters is you know what you’re doing, and you’re ready to lead.
This role isn’t about strategy yet. It’s about getting the fundamentals right and strengthening the core of our finance function. You’ll take ownership of the day‑to‑day operations from a colleague who is stepping back to focus on other areas of the business, ensuring a smooth and supportive handover. You’ll lead a small team, provide hands‑on mentoring to junior staff, and make sure our finance processes run efficiently and accurately. You’ll be the go‑to for technical accounting. IFRS, tax, month-end, year-end. All yours. You’ll have support, but you’ll be trusted to get on with it. And once you’ve got the engine running smoothly, there’s room to grow. Strategic input, business partnering, the works. But only when you’re ready.
