Do you want to be part of the professional R&D environment in Jotun? Then this is your opportunity! As a R&D Chemist, you will develop and maintain our current products whilst supporting regional Jotun laboratories around the world. You will be part of a professional and vibrant team and environment based in our state-of-the-art Fire Protection Research and Development Laboratory located in our UK head office in Flixborough.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute by developing and maintaining products under professional guidance by preparing, testing, and evaluating recipes, and raw materials according to the R&D plan.
  • Report the results from development and maintenance work both orally and written through reports to ensure that the correct decisions based on current experience are made.
  • Search for and make use of knowledge through literature, practical experience, learning from others as well as attending courses to be able to work more independently with more complex R&D tasks.

What we look for:

  • We invite applications from new graduates BSc or MSc, as well as candidates who can demonstrate relevant experience in protective coatings and preferably in intumescent R&D.
  • All candidates are expected to have good English skills – both spoken and written, and knowledge about the use of MS Office 365 and Teams/Sharepoint is an advantage.
  • This is a local contract and all applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
