Assist on assigned R&D tasks in line with instructions and set procedures according to given responsibilities, to contribute to reaching the goals and plans of the department.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to products, assets, projects, and tasks by assisting in their completion by carrying out hands-on duties according to instruction and set procedures.
- Report results continuously to ensure that relevant stakeholders are informed.
- Ensure that necessary materials are available, and laboratory equipment is operational, to ensure an effective work environment.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge and use of the necessary HSEQ procedures, safety equipment and safety documentation; and to take into consideration general safety.
- Attend to the daily order so that the workspace is tidy, safe, and pleasant.
What We Are Looking For:
- Be comfortable using hand tools such as angle grinders, drills, paddle-mixers.
- Be familiar with working in a fast-paced environment.
- Be comfortable with manufacturing, understanding and following formulations and adhering to HSE standards.
- Have basic skills on CPU, Microsoft Office and data entry.
- Be willing to work off-site for 20+ days per year.
- Act on own initiative and take responsibility for own duties.
- Be flexible in their approach to work.
- Have excellent time management and attention to detail.
- Be structured in their daily tasks with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Work well as a member of a team.
- Be people and task orientated.
- Have experience of working within the coatings industry is preferred and experience of intumescent products is particularly preferred.
