R&D Assistant Technician

Assist on assigned R&D tasks in line with instructions and set procedures according to given responsibilities, to contribute to reaching the goals and plans of the department.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to products, assets, projects, and tasks by assisting in their completion by carrying out hands-on duties according to instruction and set procedures.
• Report results continuously to ensure that relevant stakeholders are informed.
• Ensure that necessary materials are available, and laboratory equipment is operational, to ensure an effective work environment.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
• Knowledge and use of the necessary HSEQ procedures, safety equipment and safety documentation; and to take into consideration general safety.
• Attend to the daily order so that the workspace is tidy, safe, and pleasant.

What We Are Looking For:

• Be comfortable using hand tools such as angle grinders, drills, paddle-mixers.
• Be familiar with working in a fast-paced environment.
• Be comfortable with manufacturing, understanding and following formulations and adhering to HSE standards.
• Have basic skills on CPU, Microsoft Office and data entry.
• Be willing to work off-site for 20+ days per year.
• Act on own initiative and take responsibility for own duties.
• Be flexible in their approach to work.
• Have excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Be structured in their daily tasks with a ‘can do’ attitude.
• Work well as a member of a team.
• Be people and task orientated.
• Have experience of working within the coatings industry is preferred and experience of intumescent products is particularly preferred.
