We're looking for a highly skilled CNC Setter/Operator specialising in Fixed-Head turning experience to join our growing manufacturing team. What you'll be doing
- Setting and operating Fixed-Head CNC lathes from engineering drawings & job pack documentation
- Selecting tooling, fixtures and workholding to achieve the highest levels of accuracy and efficiency
- Loading and proving out CNC programs, setting tool offsets and optimising machine performance
- Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections to ensure components meet specification and GD&T requirements
- Troubleshooting machining issues and adjusting to maintain quality and maximise productivity
- Producing or modifying workholding where required
- Performing routine machine maintenance and supporting TPM and 6S activities
- Working closely with Programming, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance teams to continuously improve processes
- Supporting and mentoring apprentices and less experienced colleagues where appropriate
Your profile
Knowledge & Skills required:
- Proven experience as a Senior CNC Setter/Operator with CNC turning experience
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling and workholding
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to work on challenging projects
- A commitment to producing right-first-time quality
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement, safety and housekeeping
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team
