The Senior Composite Trimmer and Assembler is a key role within the organisation, supporting the Trim and Assembly Lead and leading by example through a high standard of workmanship, quality, and safety. The role will support the team in achieving production targets, provide guidance and knowledge to colleagues, and take on delegated responsibilities as required. When the Trim and Assembly Lead is absent, the Senior Composite Trimmer and Assembler will step into an increased level of responsibility, helping to maintain workflow, priorities, and production schedules. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively while supporting a positive and collaborative working environment. They will also contribute to continuous improvement and ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and Health & Safety requirements.
Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent working knowledge of composite materials and assemblies with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
- The ability to support and mentor a small team
- Computer literacy and familiarity with relevant production or planning software
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, assembly processes, and production plans
- Comfortable and confident in using common hand tools and air tools.
- Self-motivation and the ability to motivate others in a challenging environment
- Ability to work calmly and confidently under pressure to meet deadlines and deliver results

Key Responsibilities:
- Fit and trim composite components for projects in the automotive, defence, marine, and motorsport industries, requiring strong attention to detail & quality.
- Bond and trim assemblies in accordance with defined standards and processes.
- Follow build manuals and technical drawings, ensuring accuracy at every stage
- Completion of all relevant documentation in line with company processes
- Comply with and commit to all Health and Safety and PPE requirements.
- Lead, manage, and support a team of Trimmers and Assembly Technicians, when Trim and Assembly Lead is absent
- Delegate tasks efficiently and ensure alignment with production plans and schedules, when Trim and Assembly Lead is absent
- Monitor and suggest improvements to processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety
- Maintain open, professional communication with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders
- Attend and actively contribute to meetings and cross-departmental collaborations
- Lead by example and demonstrate a proactive approach to challenges
- Meet department goals during peak and busy periods while maintaining quality standards
- Uphold company reporting structures and work responsibly and professionally at all times
- Maintain and develop technical skills to industry standards
