Role
We are seeking an experienced and accredited OCDEA (On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor) to join our team. You will be responsible for producing SAP calculations and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for new-build domestic properties, conversions, and extensions across England and Wales.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out SAP assessments for residential projects in line with current Building Regulations (Part L).
- Produce accurate EPCs for new dwellings and conversions.
- Liaise with clients (developers, architects, consultants) to gather project information and advise on compliance.
- Provide clear recommendations to improve energy efficiency and achieve regulatory standards.
- Ensure assessments are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation, software updates, and best practices.
Candidate Requirements
- OCDEA accreditation with a recognised accreditation body (e.g., Elmhurst, Stroma, Quidos, etc.).
- Proven experience undertaking SAP calculations and producing EPCs.
- Strong understanding of Building Regulations Part L (current edition).
- Proficiency with approved SAP software (e.g., Elmhurst Design SAP, Stroma FSAP, etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with Energy and Sustainability Statements
- Knowledge of Part O (Overheating) assessments, Psi Value calculations and/or condensation risk analysis.
- Experience working directly with developers and architects.
£27,000–£34,000 depending on experience and skills.
