We are recruiting Technical Support Engineers for a range of school-based roles across London and the Reading area.

The role

You will provide frontline technical support within a school environment, building strong relationships with staff and helping technology work reliably for teaching and learning.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver friendly, effective frontline support to customers on site.
  • Respond to support requests, investigate faults and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Manage alerts and actions raised by our IT monitoring systems.
  • Keep customers updated and confirm that issues have been resolved to their satisfaction.
  • Build strong relationships with school contacts, colleagues and third-party suppliers.
  • Escalate Active Directory, hardware, backup, networking and Windows Server issues when required.
  • Support classroom technology, including computers, interactive displays, printers and associated hardware.
  • Prepare and configure devices, software and peripherals.
  • Complete reports, timesheets and other administration accurately and on time.
  • Prioritise your workload and manage competing requests calmly.
  • Follow company policies covering quality, environmental practice and information security.
  • Take responsibility for your professional development and relevant qualifications.
  • What we are looking for
  • Good customer service experience and a professional, approachable manner.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • A sound understanding of networking, including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
  • Experience supporting Windows devices and a working knowledge of Windows Server.
  • Basic hardware troubleshooting skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the confidence to work with people at every level.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Good organisation, time management and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Useful but not essential
  • Previous experience supporting technology in a school or education setting.
  • Knowledge of VMware or other virtualisation platforms.
  • ITIL awareness or a relevant technical qualification.
  • Google Workspace administration

The salary for these roles is £29,000 to £32,000 per annum, depending on experience and capability.

Joskos FUSE also provides the opportunity to earn an additional £1,000 to £4,000 a year for qualifying introductions, subject to the scheme rules.

Location

These are on-site roles supporting schools in and around London and Reading. Exact locations and travel expectations will be discussed during the recruitment process.
