We are currently seeking a highly skilled and driven M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team, supporting the delivery of high-value Data Centre projects across the UK and Europe. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, technically complex sector at the forefront of global infrastructure growth.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical quantity surveying and a solid understanding of the commercial challenges associated with mission-critical environments. You will work closely with our clients, delivery teams, and subcontractors to ensure accurate cost management and successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide full commercial management of M&E packages across Data Centre construction projects
- Prepare and manage cost plans, take-offs, and bills of quantities for complex mechanical and electrical systems
- Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and administration through to final account
- Produce monthly valuations, cost reports, payment notices, and cash flow forecasts
- Monitor labour efficiency, hours spent vs earned, and overall commercial performance against project KPIs
- Support contract compliance, including FIDIC/NEC frameworks, and manage contractual claims or variations
- Collaborate closely with design, planning, and delivery teams to ensure accurate forecasting and budget control
- Ensure commercial risks are identified, tracked, and mitigated throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain a detailed understanding of project drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Attend client and subcontractor meetings to provide clear cost updates and strategic advice
- Proven experience working as an M&E Quantity Surveyor, ideally within Data Centre, pharmaceutical, or mission-critical projects
- Excellent understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, packages, and installations
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in pre- and post-contract QS duties
- Working knowledge of key contract forms (e.g. FIDIC, NEC, JCT)
- Strong analytical and measurement skills with ability to interpret technical drawings and specs
- Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure delivery environment
- Proficiency in relevant software: Excel, cost reporting tools, estimation platforms
