The business is looking to appoint a Fire Safety Technical Specialist to provide technical leadership across its fire safety consultancy function and support the continued development of its national offering.

This is a senior technical role sitting at the heart of a consultancy team of around 65 Health & Safety Consultants, acting as the escalation point for complex fire-related matters while also providing hands-on technical guidance to both consultants and clients. The successful individual will support client meetings, advise on complex fire safety challenges, and help deliver practical, commercially focused solutions across a wide range of property types and risk environments.

Alongside client-facing responsibilities, the role plays a key part in shaping technical standards and improving consistency across the consultancy function. This includes mentoring consultants, supporting training and competency development.

The Role

  • Provide technical fire safety expertise and act as the escalation point for complex fire-related queries across the consultancy team.
  • Support client meetings and provide practical, commercially focused fire safety advice across a diverse range of property types and sectors.
  • Review, support and improve fire risk assessment quality and consistency across the consultancy function.
  • Mentor and develop Health & Safety Consultants to improve fire safety knowledge and competence.
  • Contribute to the development of technical standards, frameworks and best practice guidance.
  • Support training delivery and competency development across the wider team.

About You:

  • Strong background in fire safety management and fire risk assessment within consultancy or a multi-site environment.
  • Proven experience completing complex fire risk assessments across varied property types and risk profiles.
  • Strong understanding of fire safety legislation, guidance and industry standards.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching or developing other consultants or technical staff.
  • Confident operating as a technical authority and escalation point for fire safety matters.
