We are recruiting on behalf of a Housing Association seeking a Maintenance Surveyor to support the delivery of responsive repairs and property maintenance across a residential portfolio. You'll play a key role in diagnosing defects, managing contractors, and ensuring homes are safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake detailed property inspections, diagnosing defects including damp & mould, structural issues, and building fabric failures.
- Specify remedial works that address root causes, not just symptoms.
- Manage contractors, monitor performance, and inspect works pre- and post-completion.
- Handle complex cases including disrepair, insurance works, and building safety issues.
- Support compliance with HHSRS, fire safety, and asbestos regulations.
- Contribute to planned maintenance and asset management programmes.
- Maintain accurate records and produce technical reports.
- Experience in a surveying or property maintenance role within housing or similar.
- Strong technical knowledge of building pathology, repairs, and maintenance.
- Experience managing contractors and ensuring quality of works.
- Understanding of damp & mould, HHSRS, and relevant housing legislation.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
