The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Interim M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a major Data Centre development in West London. This role is working on behalf of a specialist MEP Cost Consultancy, providing commercial and cost management support on a live, high-value mission-critical project. The successful candidate will join an established delivery team and play a key role in managing mechanical and electrical packages through a critical stage of the programme. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute M&E QS who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, technically complex Data Centre environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages
  • Subcontractor procurement and package tender analysis
  • Cost reporting and forecasting
  • Variations assessment and agreement
  • Change control management
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Risk and value management
  • Liaison with client, contractor, and design teams
  • Support in final account negotiations

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor
  • Strong background in large-scale industrial, mission-critical, or Data Centre projects (preferred)
  • Experience working for an MEP contractor or specialist MEP cost consultancy
  • Strong understanding of NEC or JCT contract forms
  • Ability to work independently within a live project environment
  • Excellent commercial reporting and stakeholder management skills
  • Available for immediate start

Desirable

  • Data Centre project experience
  • Experience working within Tier 1 contractor environments
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • RICS chartered (or working towards)
