About the role
We are seeking an experienced Recruitment Business Partner to join Gateshead Council's People Services team on a temporary basis. In this role, you will act as a trusted recruitment partner to hiring managers across the organisation, supporting the delivery of high-quality, end-to-end recruitment campaigns. You will play a key role in attracting and appointing talent across a range of services, ensuring a positive candidate experience and compliance with recruitment best practice. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys stakeholder engagement, advisory work, and delivering efficient and effective recruitment solutions in a fast-paced in-house environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and design effective recruitment strategies
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including attraction, sourcing, selection, and onboarding
- Provide expert advice and guidance on recruitment best practice and fair selection processes
- Support and coach managers to ensure consistent and high-quality recruitment outcomes
- Use recruitment data and insight to improve processes and inform decision-making
- Contribute to continuous improvement of recruitment approaches and candidate experience
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience in end-to-end recruitment (in-house experience desirable)
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to build effective working relationships
- Experience managing multiple vacancies and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to develop proactive and tailored recruitment strategies
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of recruitment compliance, equality, and data protection principles
- Experience with bulk recruitment is desirable
- Experience using Jobtrain ATS is desirable but not essential
