A well-established, award-winning general insurance and financial services business with over 110 years of history, this organisation runs a Risk Management Services function that has been helping business owners reduce and manage commercial risk for more than three decades. With a strong reputation for putting customers first and a culture that's been independently recognised year after year, it's a business that takes both its people and its purpose seriously.
This role sits within the East region of that Risk Management Services team, working directly with clients across Oxfordshire, Leicestershire, and Cambridgeshire. It's a field-based position, combining home working with regular client site visits, and it exists to deliver a tailored health and safety consultancy service across a genuinely varied client base, from commercial and retail through to agriculture, estates, and leisure.
The Role
- You'll be the trusted health and safety expert for a portfolio of clients, helping them understand their obligations, manage risk, and take practical steps to protect their people and their business.
- This isn't a desk-based compliance function; it's hands-on, client-facing consultancy work that requires both technical depth and the ability to communicate clearly.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients across a wide range of industries in the East region.
- Conduct site visits and remote surveys, producing high-quality health and safety reports, audits, and action plans within agreed SLAs.
- Translate complex legislation and risk information into clear, prioritised, and proportionate guidance that clients can act on.
- Support clients in achieving compliance with current health and safety legislation and reducing the likelihood of accidents.
- Engage with industry and regulatory bodies to stay current and represent the business professionally.
- Manage your own diary effectively, balancing field visits with home-based report writing and administration.
About You
- You're a confident, experienced health and safety professional who's comfortable working independently and managing a varied client portfolio across multiple sectors.
- Proven experience in a health and safety consultancy or advisory role, ideally spanning commercial and agricultural environments.
- Detailed working knowledge of current health and safety legislation, risk management principles, and loss prevention practices.
- Holds, or is actively working towards, the NEBOSH Diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, professional reports and action plans to a high standard.
- Self-motivated and target-driven, with strong time management and the ability to work effectively without close supervision.
- A customer-focused approach with the interpersonal skills to adapt your style across a wide range of stakeholders.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
