The Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Control Professional (Class 2C or 2F), working under the direction of a Class 3H professional, to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolution of building safety practices in England. You will play a key role in supporting our Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs), ensuring that regulatory decisions are technically robust, evidence-based, and proportionate. The role will primarily focus on the assessment of new-build Higher Risk Buildings as part of BSR's Building Control 'Innovation' Team. This position requires strong technical expertise alongside excellent communication skills, enabling you to present complex issues clearly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively within a team of professional specialists on matters relating to building control and building regulations.
  • Support Regulatory Leads and caseworkers in interpreting complex submissions, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and statutory processes.
  • Participate in MDT meetings, case validation discussions, and regulatory panels, contributing to sound, evidence-based decision-making.
  • Provide specialist advice and peer review on building control applications.
  • Identify procedural or technical issues in submissions and recommend appropriate regulatory actions.
  • Support regulatory and policy teams in interpreting the Building Regulations 2010.
