We are currently recruiting for a Streetscene Operative to join a dedicated environmental services team based in Dormanstown, North Yorkshire. This role plays an important part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across the Borough through high-quality grounds maintenance, street cleansing, open space maintenance, and waste collection services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective street cleansing, grounds maintenance, and waste collection services.
- Maintain public spaces, foreshores, and town centres to a high standard.
- Help protect, enhance, and promote access to local public areas and environmental spaces.
- Support the continual improvement of frontline environmental services through efficient working practices and excellent customer service.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, council departments, public bodies, and members of the local community.
- Report hazards, environmental concerns, or issues outside of your direct responsibility to your line manager to support safer and cleaner communities.
- Operate as part of a flexible and hardworking team committed to service delivery excellence.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong awareness of health and safety responsibilities.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, proactive, and committed to maintaining high environmental standards.
- Experience in grounds maintenance, cleansing, waste collection, or similar outdoor operational work is desirable.
