Our client is passionate about delivering a world-class service to their clients and are currently recruiting Procurement Lead to support major infrastructure projects. Working within multi-sector teams, you will play a key role in delivering procurement activities on some of the most significant projects and programmes shaping the future of our economy and environment.
This role offers the opportunity to develop strong leadership skills, take ownership of projects and contribute to the growth and success of the wider business. The ideal candidate will be client-focused, confident, and experienced in a consultancy environment, with a strong background in complex construction and infrastructure procurement.
As a Procurement Manager, you will:
- Lead and support procurement activities across complex infrastructure and construction projects
- Take ownership of projects, managing delivery from early market engagement through to contract award
- Manage and mentor junior team members, ensuring high-quality service delivery
- Work closely with clients and project stakeholders to understand objectives, risks, and opportunities
- Recommend appropriate delivery models, routes to market and commercial and contracting strategies
- Engage with the supply market to identify trends, opportunities and risks, feeding insights back into client organisations
- Drive continuous improvement by sharing best practice, innovation and lessons learned
- Support business development activities and work-winning opportunities
- Build strong internal and external relationships and contribute to the growth of the business
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Degree qualified in a construction-related discipline
- MRICS, MCIPS, or equivalent professional qualification
- 5+ years' experience leading multiple procurements under Public Contract Regulations
- Proven experience delivering complex construction and infrastructure procurements
- Experience working with standard form contracts including NEC and FIDIC
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience within a consultancy environment or strong understanding of the consultancy model
- Confident people manager, able to delegate effectively and manage multiple projects to time and budget
- Client-focused, with a commitment to exceeding client expectations
- Business development experience desirable
