We're working with a leading MEP Contractor delivering complex mission-critical projects and are now seeking a Construction QA/QC Engineer (Electrical bias) to join the team on a major project in Surrey. This role is ideal for a detail-driven QA/QC professional who takes pride in delivering right-first-time installations, ensuring systems are handed over safely, compliantly, and snag-free. You'll play a key role in protecting quality standards from construction through testing, inspection, and final handover.
The Role
As Construction QA/QC Engineer, you'll take ownership of quality across your allocated electrical scope, working closely with construction, commissioning, and client teams. You'll ensure installations meet project specifications, industry standards, and client expectations — supporting a smooth and successful turnover process.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections to verify the quality of electrical installations
- Take full ownership of snagging activities, including scheduled walkdowns, surveillances, and observations
- Critique installations to ensure client walkdowns are snag-free
- Deliver and sign off First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) installations and processes
- Manage document control for construction drawings, schedules, and specifications
- Act as QA owner for allocated turnover scope from construction completion through testing, inspection, and handover
- Participate in the project Quality Surveillance Programme
- Compile and manage turnover and handover packs
- Complete and control installation drawings and cable schedules for allocated scope
- Represent the contractor at System and Area Turnover Walkdowns
- Support continuous improvement in quality processes across the project
- Undertake other reasonable duties as required by the project team
About You
We're looking for a QA/QC Engineer with strong electrical experience who brings:
- Detailed knowledge of QA/QC processes for electrical installations
- Experience working on mission-critical or complex MEP projects
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of programme impacts
- Solid knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental systems
- An understanding of team capabilities, strengths, and development needs
- A methodical, proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
- Confidence engaging with construction teams, subcontractors, and clients
