Job Type: Environmental Operatives Location: Newcastle City Council Hours: 37 hours per week Rate: £13.72 Positions Available: 3 About the Role We are currently seeking three Environmental Operatives to join Newcastle City Council on a temporary contract running from November 2025 to May 2026. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, contributing to the local community, and taking pride in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming public spaces. Key Responsibilities Support daily environmental maintenance across designated areas Litter picking, sweeping, and general street cleansing Removal of waste and debris Assisting with recycling and waste operations Ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently Reporting hazards or issues to supervisors Working both independently and as part of a small team Requirements Previous experience in a similar environmental or labouring role is preferred Ability to work in outdoor environments in all weather conditions Good communication skills and reliability Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks Why Apply?
