We are currently supporting a housing organisation in East London to appoint an experienced Interim Resident Liaison / Engagement Officer for an immediate requirement starting in early April. This is a highly visible, resident-facing role where you will act as the key link between tenants, internal teams, and external stakeholders including the Fire Service.
The Role
- Building strong relationships with residents across a small portfolio of housing sites located in Aldgate East, Mile End, Isle of Dogs, and Poplar.
- Conducting door-to-door resident engagement ("door knocking").
- Acting as the primary point of contact for residents, addressing queries and concerns.
- Liaising with Fire Service and other external partners.
- Supporting communication around building safety and works programmes.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring strong administrative oversight.
- Providing a visible, proactive presence across multiple sites.
About You
We are looking for someone who is confident, proactive, and highly organised, with a natural ability to engage with a wide range of residents. You will bring:
- Experience in a similar role such as: Resident Liaison Officer (RLO), Resident Engagement Officer, Housing Engagement Officer, Housing Liaison Officer.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The confidence to work independently and "be on the ground".
- Excellent administrative and organisational ability.
- A proactive, "on-the-ball" approach.
Desirable (not essential):
- Experience or knowledge of building safety / fire safety.
Additional Information
Based out of an office near Aldgate East, with regular travel to nearby sites. Portfolio concentrated across 3-4 local locations, making this a manageable patch. Ideal for candidates based locally in East London.
