Berrys is an independent property and rural consultancy built on trusted relationships, bringing together insight, technical expertise and sound commercial judgement across the full lifecycle of land and property ownership. With more than 130 staff operating across the Midlands and beyond, Berrys spans a genuinely broad range of disciplines: planning, architecture, building surveying, valuation, rural consultancy, heritage and commercial property agency, among others. That breadth generates cross-referral opportunities and a diverse, established client base.
The business works with rural landowners, developers and commercial occupiers alike. Its reputation in agricultural and rural matters is well established, and its commercial property and development consultancy work sits alongside that as a recognised strand of the practice. Berrys is now looking to grow its commercial agency presence in North Northamptonshire, and this role is the vehicle for that expansion.
This is a business development mandate: to build a commercial agency desk focused on industrial units in the 50,000 to 100,000 sq ft range across North Northamptonshire, generating new instructions and establishing Berrys as a credible force in that market. The commercial agency function in Kettering has historically operated in high street retail and smaller units. The business is ready to move into larger industrial stock, and this role carries the responsibility for making that happen.
The expectation is proactive outreach to occupiers and landowners, building relationships and piecing together deals ahead of formal instruction. The longer-term trajectory is clear: grow the desk to a point where progression to partnership, or a meaningful profit-share arrangement, becomes the natural next step. Berrys is developing a performance-linked earnings structure to ensure that contribution of this kind is rewarded in a tangible way.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactive business development, cold outreach, door-knocking and relationship building with occupiers and landowners
- Handling commercial agency instructions for industrial units in the 50,000 to 100,000 sq ft range
- Maintaining and growing Berrys’ board presence and marketing profile in the Kettering and North Northamptonshire market
Candidate Profile
- You are a commercially driven agency professional ready to build a market position, not simply service one.
- Proactive, assertive business development mindset, with the ability and willingness to generate new instructions rather than wait for inbound work
- Commercial agency experience (any property sector considered if the individual has the right drive and relationship-building capability)
- Experience in industrial agency, ideally in the 50,000 to 100,000 sq ft range
- Existing relationships with occupiers, landowners and institutional investors in the Midlands and East Midlands
- MRICS qualified (professional qualification noted as a positive)
- Positioned at Associate Partner level or equivalent seniority, broadly up to circa five years post-qualification
- Local market knowledge of North Northamptonshire and the East Midlands
- Ambition to build and ultimately own something, rather than be a corporate cog
Why Berrys?
- Partnership at Berrys is open to anyone who demonstrates business growth. This role is structured to grow with the individual who takes it on.
- Partnership open to all staff, based on business growth rather than tenure or seniority
- Performance-linked earnings vehicle in development, designed to reward high performers significantly
- More than 130 staff across a genuinely multi-disciplinary practice, creating cross-referral opportunities
- Independent business with a strong, established reputation in both rural and commercial property
- Operating across the Midlands and beyond, with recognised expertise in agricultural and rural matters
- Stable, well-performing company providing a secure platform from which to build
- You inherit the credibility of an established, well-regarded name and a stable platform performing well across all disciplines
- 35 days holiday, birthday day off, loyalty holiday, private healthcare, health cash plan and enhanced pension, alongside a wider benefits package
