We are working with a highly regarded MEP Contractor that is continuing to grow its project portfolio across London and Essex. They are looking to appoint an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to take commercial ownership of a portfolio of high-value, technically complex projects across the luxury residential, commercial and hotel sectors. What You'll Be Doing
- You will take responsibility for the commercial management of MEP projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with project teams, clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the commercial performance of MEP projects from contract award through to completion.
- Preparing, reviewing and managing project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
- Managing variations, valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
- Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor and supplier accounts.
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities and implementing appropriate strategies.
- Supporting procurement and ensuring packages are commercially competitive.
- Managing change control and ensuring variations are properly captured and valued.
- Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers and senior management to maintain project profitability.
- Producing accurate monthly commercial reports and forecasts.
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Providing commercial input during pre-construction and tender stages where required.
The Projects
You will be involved in high-end, high-value MEP projects where attention to detail and commercial control are critical. Typical projects may include:
- Luxury residential developments
- High-end private residences
- 5-star and boutique hotels
- Prime commercial developments
- CAT A / CAT B commercial fit-outs
- Major refurbishment and redevelopment projects
- Complex MEP installations and technically demanding schemes
Project values can be substantial, with MEP packages ranging from multi-million-pound contracts upwards.
About You
We are looking for an experienced MEP commercial professional who understands the complexities of delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical projects. You will ideally have:
- Strong experience working for an MEP / M&E Contractor.
- A proven background as an MEP Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
- Experience across high-end residential, commercial, hotel or similarly complex projects.
- Strong understanding of MEP subcontract packages and procurement.
- Excellent commercial, contractual and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing variations, valuations, applications, forecasting and final accounts.
- The confidence to work directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to take commercial ownership of projects.
- A proactive and commercially minded approach.
A relevant degree, HNC/HND or professional qualification is desirable, although strong practical experience will be considered.
