About the Opportunity

An established international real estate consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate Director to join its London Building Consultancy team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Chartered Building Surveyor looking to step into a senior role with a genuine platform to develop client relationships, lead projects, mentor junior surveyors and play an active role in the continued growth of the team.

The successful candidate will work across a broad range of commercial property instructions for institutional investors, developers, occupiers and private clients, delivering both professional and project work across Central London and the South East.

The Role

As an Associate Director, you will take responsibility for managing client relationships, delivering high quality technical advice and supporting the wider leadership team in growing the Building Consultancy business.

Responsibilities will include

  • Delivering a wide range of professional Building Surveying instructions including:
  • Dilapidations
  • Technical Due Diligence
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs)
  • Schedules of Condition
  • Defect Diagnosis
  • Party Wall matters
  • Reinstatement Cost Assessments
  • Leading refurbishment, fit out and capital works projects from inception through to completion.
  • Acting as Project Manager and Contract Administrator under JCT contracts.
  • Managing multiple instructions simultaneously whilst maintaining exceptional client service.
  • Building and developing long term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Identifying opportunities for cross selling services across the wider business.
  • Preparing fee proposals and supporting business development initiatives.
  • Mentoring and developing graduate and junior surveyors.
  • Supporting Directors with team growth and strategic initiatives.

About You

You will be a commercially minded Building Surveyor who enjoys developing client relationships and delivering high quality advice across a varied commercial portfolio.

You will ideally have

  • MRICS qualified.
  • Significant Building Surveying experience within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge across both professional and project work.
  • Experience delivering commercial refurbishment and fit out projects.
  • Excellent client facing and communication skills.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Commercial awareness with an interest in winning and developing business.
  • Ability to mentor and support junior team members.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach.
